Wireless Setup
#21
I'm currently using the b818 in my own house as I need to get the adapters for the antenna, I order the wrong ones ?. I usually use a Huawei b525 and can generally get coverage all over the house, even though it might be a bit poorer in spots. I'm finding the range on the b818 to be poorer, I have adjusted the frequency and turned off that it's 5ghz is preferred, so it shows the 5ghz and 2.4ghz. I feel once I leave the room that the router is in the signal and speed really drops off compared to the b525. Is there any setting that can be changed or is this just a difference between the two.

The B818 has two TS9 antenna sockets, which require TS9 to SMA adapters to attach your antenna leads. I suggest getting a pair where the TS9 connectors are straight, especially with how close they have the two TS9 connectors. These are the two I previously used with a Netgear M1 that also has TS9 connectors and worked well:

I have heard others mention the same thing about the B818 Wi-Fi coverage being poor. If the 5GHz channel selection allows channels above 100, try selecting a high channel # as Wi-Fi access points are allowed to transmit at higher power above channel 100. You can try also placing it on a box to raise the height as this will help spread out the Wi-Fi signal, particularly if placed on a window sill or filing cabinet.

The only other option would be to use another Wi-Fi access point or a single Wi-Fi mesh node (configured in bridge mode).
