MikroTik Chateau 5G ax low speed
#1
Hi everyone,

I have recreantly bought MikroTik Chateau 5G ax , used to own Huawei CPE Pro2. When using the Chateau i barely get speeds above 200m while I usually get 600-700m in pro2. I don't use any external antenna since the signal is good in my area. I have seen Seán here but the instructions were for external antennas which are not necessary in my case. I have switch some of the connecters inside but still the speed is won't go above 200m.
I would really appreciate if you can tell what I'm missing here.

below I have some info and test that can be useful.

From looking at your signal readings, the 5G reading has about as high SINR as you can get, so the original internal antenna configuration is fine. In fact, those 4G carriers alone could deliver much higher throughput without 5G.

This means something else is most likely limiting the bandwidth. One possibility is the APN. Check it is using the same APN as the Huawei, i.e. In Winbox, go into Interfaces -> LTE tab -> LTE APNs button, then double-click the one you are using. Ensure "Use Network APN" is not checked and check the APN field matches that on the Huawei.

If this Chateau 5G AX was bought used, do a factory reset as there could be some firewall, queue, etc. rules from the previous owner that could be limiting the speed. For example, if the fasttrack firewall filter rule is disabled, this can limit the speed.

You can also try cell locking to the 4G EARFCN and PCI that the Huawei was connected to, i.e.:

/interface lte at-chat lte1 input="at+qnwlock=\"common/4g\",1,1450,410"

To remove cell clock:

/interface lte at-chat lte1 input="at+qnwlock=\"common/4g\",0"
