Hi guys,
The Huawei 5G CPE WIN H312-371 is an outdoor 5G CPE device and works quite well in n78 environment. I've got a situation where the service will favor a 4G signal over this 5G and drop speeds from 300mbps to circa 10mbps. Does anyone know if this can be band locked or know if 4G bands can be turned off? A simple reboot of the hardware will restore the 5G service, but this is irritating f
I have seen Huawei 5G CPE Pro 2 being band locked and assuming this can also be done?
Side note for anyone, Huawei 5G CPE WIN H312-371 only supports NR NSA Bands 41, 77 & 78
As there are probably 100s of methods, please share your method if you have one.

In LTE H-Monitor, go into Configuration -> Radio and you can choose the 4G upload band and which download bands to lock to.
Most mobile operators operate 5G in NSA configuration, which depends on a 4G carrier for its control signalling. The Irish Three network typically uses bands 20 and 28 for the 4G carrier.
When you router is working on 5G, take note of the 4G band and also of the CellId. When it loses the 5G connection, check if the 4G band has changed. If it has changed, you can try 4G band locking and leave out the 4G band it switched to. Choose the 4G band it was using with 5G as the Upload band.
If only the CellId changes when the 5G connection drops, this indicates the router is switching to another mast. In this case you can try repositioning the router to another area.
Thanks for the info. Will this require embedding on the router to hold the cell lock? or Can it be set up via PC and it will hold until reset or changed?

From what I recall with my previous Huawei B525, it would hold the band lock after a reboot. Making network mode changes in the web interface would clear the band lock.
I'm not sure whether with newer Huawei models hold the band lock after a reboot as I have not used a 5G Huawei router to test.

Its not looking like its possible to have control over the N1 N3 or N77/N78 bands on this tool.... nor is it clear on which one its locked it.
changing 4g bands, 1,3,20,28 all download is similiar with 5G enabled circa 250mbps on high capacity n78 on three.
is there anyway i can control the 5G bands or just force 5G?
im seeing results for UL and download for NR is 3750000, assuming this is n77 band?

Is there a way to cell lock on this software? can't seem to find this! The software has proven glitchy for me - You really need to be tuned into the terminology or their way of configuration for it to make sense. Are there any other methods for band lock?
