Thanks Sean for the insight by iperf testing. I'll try out with my mw12 one day or another and let the forum know.
Here is one interesting thing I had to learn the hard way these days: when playing around with wired backhaul with mixed mesh if mw12 and mw6, one of my mw12 became extremely unreliable, dropping wifi, not working at all on the Lan ports etc. Driving me totally mad until I had to notice:
While the power supplies on mw6 and mw12 look exactly the same, they are not! The one for mw12 has an output of 18W, the mw6 only 12W, which you can see only from the fire print. Stupid mistake, but when switching back and forth the nodes, by accident I used an mw6 power supply for my mw12 primary.
The nasty thing about that: the mw12 will start alright with the smaller power supply, you can log into the app, even hook up one phone on WiFi to surf etc. But once you apply more traffic to that underpowered mw12, like by adding some Nas to the Lan port or doing speedtests, you get all kind of spotty behavior. Took me long to figure that one out, and everything went back to normal once the mw12 had its proper higher power supply again.
So if you have mix of different Tenda Nova like me, always make sure every cube is run with its intended powers supply !!!
