Was happy to have found this thread, which helped a lot with my tenda mesh (have mw12, some mw6 and even mw3 flying around.
One thing about setup method 2 I could not really find out: by definition, all the internet traffic in the house, regardless if they are wired or connect to the tendas, run though that primary node from its WAN to that LAN port. Could that become a bottleneck for traffic?
I am not sure how Lan and Wan are connected technically within the Tenda Nova - is this like on a switch where the ports are kind of "hardwired" with special chips that do nothing but the routing?
Or would the primary more work like a router, i.e. use CPU power to somehow process the data coming from Wan port and allocating it to the Lan port?
Has anybody by chance measured webspeed of a wired client that would sit behind the primary node in scenario 2?
