How to set up Tenda Nova mesh for wired backhaul - MW5, MW6, etc.
#30
Thanks for the reply. I tried turning one off but it kind of made things worse. (I think there was too much space between the two nodes). I don’t have a video sender, unless you’re referring to CCTV? But that isn’t connected via Wi-Fi?

I’ve gone back and forth between connecting the nodes via Ethernet in the WAN/LAN port and the regular LAN port. In the end, I’ve turned everything off and on again, and connected node by node (this time into the LAN port) and currently everyone and everything that should connect to 5GHz is.

I’ve ordered an additional node although I’m thinking if that was really needed but I’ll see.

I heard the Tenda Nova’s are known for these sorts of issues with inconsistent speeds and such. Shame really

All 3 are showing the <—> sign too. But if I close the app and reopen it reverts to the Wi-Fi signal again. So bloody weird.

Lastly, with how my set up is, I often see different devices showing as connected by wire which couldn’t be further from the truth. For example the Ring doorbell is only connected by Wi-Fi but the app is now showing it as wired. Could this be because of the Ethernet switch? My third node is connected to a network switch mind you
