The main symptom of water wicking is a sharp drop in the signal strength, particularly on band 3. With me, the signal would drop from about -100dBm to -120dBm, particularly when it's calm and misty outside where water droplets build up on everything, i.e. I call it the type of weather that makes sheep soggy.

Since shoving a cut up plastic pen between the elements, I haven't had any issue with mist or rain since.
