The recent thunderstorms blew out the phone line and Vodafone router at my workplace, so I brought in my LHG with the EP06-E to provide temporary Internet access. One thing's for sure, it's a night vs day improvement over the 8Mb DSL connection, especially the uplink, i.e. 0.5Mb vs 40Mb! Another reason I brought it in due to something in the area over the past few months is causing havoc with local 3G and 800MHz 4G signals, rendering a mobile hotspot unusable, i.e. one moment everything is fine and next thing data becomes unusable and anyone on a mobile call gets terrible interference or cut off. My guess would be someone operating a dodgy mobile repeater that is intermittently oscillating (like microphone feedback from a PA speaker). As the LHG has a tight beam on the high frequency bands, I could aim it at a distant Eir mast operating on bands 1 and 3 to avoid the interference and had a stable fast connection throughout the day.
While setting up, I tried a few CA combinations with the Eir prepay SIM and found that the EP06-E does not appear to support Band 1+3 CA, at least not with Eir. It would aggregate either band with band 28 fine. With just bands 1 and 3 enabled, it connected on band 1 only.
