An in-law's Samsung A34 phone developed a false moisture detection issue where plugging in the phone causes it to display a beeping pop-up alert saying to unplug immediately.  I cleaned the port and left it sitting on the outlet vent of a dehumidifier for a few hours just to make sure it was not an actual moisture issue even though the phone never got damp or wet.

I tried every guide I came across including clearing the USB Settings cache, booting in safe mode, turning off fast charge, using the original Samsung charger and cable, a new USB-C cable, powering on with the volume down button held, stopping the Android System App, etc.  None of these methods method worked with this phone.

Having at one stage managing to get it to show the green charging circle, I let it charge to 20% before unplugging the cable to see whether I solved the issue.  However, plugging it in led to the beeping pop-up alert again and refusing to continue charging, so I tried figuring out what I did to get past the message and found that holding down the 'OK' button for several seconds twice in a row appears to allow it to recharge.

Temporary workaround:
  1. If the battery is completely flat, plug in the phone until the water droplet alert appears, then unplug until the screen turns black and repeat 10 times.  This should add enough energy to turn on the phone for the next step.
  2. Turn on the phone with the USB charger connected.  If the phone is slow to boot, press and hold down the volume button button when the "protected by knox" appears below the Samsung logo to boot a little quicker into safe mode.
  3. When the moisture detected message appears, press and hold down the 'OK' button until you count 4 beeps.  The 3rd and 4th beeps usually occur in rapid succession.
  4. When the aleart reappears, press and hold down the 'OK' button until you count 4 beeps.  The message should disappear and show the green charging circle and continue charging until the next time it is plugged in.
I repeated the above steps multiple times and this appears to consistently work at least with their Samsung A34 using the original Samsung charger.

So far I have not found any method that permanently disables the moisture detection alert, so the phone likely has an actual hardware issue with the port, but can at least they can recharge and continue using the phone until they can get it repaired.
